Making a Rotating Movie Camera for Second Life Machinima

I call this blog ‘setting up ‘the shot’… (…you know…for people like me that are terrible at ‘drone style footage’) The problem? I need to make an epic SMOOTH half circle style pan around Inviktus (the dude with the sword in the video) while he’s shifting into attack /defensive position - Romy (the purple haired girl) cowering in the background.

I’m terrible at ‘panning’ in fly cam and I’m a spazz in mouse-look. Anyone who’s actually watched me flailing around in mouse-look in my old GM metered combat days in Second Life will know it’s a ‘hot mess’ and I’m likely to give even the mopst pirate-y of pirates motion sickness. That’s why I usually get Gonje to do ‘pans’ for me - We discuss the overall feeling of the scene and I put a rough edit together, but for elaborate ‘drone style’ fly cam footage? That’s all him, but even he was having an issue with the feathering that was set up in Black Dragon. (To be fair, this likely isn’t a Black Dragon ‘issue’. This is likely a ‘we don’t know what we are doing with all the bells and whistles in Black Dragon’ problem, and with a looming deadline, I don’t have time to learn the answer fast enough to fix the ‘feathering’ issue I was experiencing with my xBox controller.)

So what’s a girl to do? See below! :)
