Forever Tourist FAQ
What is Forever Tourist?
Forever Tourist is a ‘free to play’ exploration experience gamified for Second Life. It in the past it has housed an active list of over 500 locations to explore. The current E3 launch will restart the list from scratch and is currently a source of ‘things to do’ for over 5000 players across the Second Life grid.
Is it FREE to play?
Yes! Residents can get their own E3 HUD for free, and use it to collect stamps, collect free gifts from participating Locations, or search for ‘Engage’ items anywhere that a creator has created experiences for residents to enjoy.
Is it FREE to list a Location?
It sure is - anyone can get one FREE kiosk at the inworld location.
Does my old Forever Tourist stuff work with this new version?
No - The old passport system will not work with the new E3 model. Sorry. :( Your stamps do not transfer from the old version of Forever Tourist to the new E3 model, but you can keep and use your old passports as long as you like. FYI - part of the reason why we remade this version of Forever Tourist was to make sure that you won’t loose your stamps moving forward and this won't happen again.
So it’s not a Passport HUD anymore? The stamps don’t ‘apply’ to a Passport HUD?
Forever Tourist E3 is different than previous versions. You are collecting no copy/no mod textures to put in prim on your own land. That display still works the same way as the previous passport HUD you had before (you can click the stamp / textures to go to the location, etc.), but it’s not a HUD you wear around anymore.
Can I have a passport version that will travel with me?
I have another version that is set to come out soon to go on boats and cars - but it won't be a 'passport HUD'. It will look like the Inworld Display you have now at your house, but it won’t break when you travel from region to region.
How are Kiosks different?
Kiosks are called ‘Encounter Sensors’. They now give out a no copy/no mod texture for players to add to their own Inworld Stamp Display - when it’s loaded in, it gives players the texture as well as the SURL of your location (just like before). Encounter Sensors can still give out an optional gift and can still send a weekly update to you about the number of people that touched it. In addition, they can now also go invisible, automatically ‘check-in’ to keep your listing active, and will report to the Leader Board every week. Players now also collect their ‘stamp’ by clicking their E3 HUD near the sensor, not by clicking the Sensor itself. Here is a quick video that goes through me actually playing the game in real time - collecting stamps and putting them in the Inworld Display.
What’s up with the Engage Creator’s Kit?
This ISN’T like the ‘kiosks’ of old - It’s a tool you can use to make little hunts/interactions for residents to use while they explore. Think something like the old ‘Magellan games’ or the newer version of ‘Abnor Lost his Wallet’. I’m working on some detailed tutorials, but in the meantime, you can find out more here: https://feoriefrimon.com/engage
Do you charge for any of your Forever Tourist products?
Not anymore. If you see something listed for $1L, it’s only because I have to list it as something.
