  • 5 Minutes or Less.

That’s how long it takes most residents to set up a Location to add to the Forever Tourist exploration list and introduce their brand to a waiting list of Secondlife explorers. Any type of Location anywhere on the SecondLife grid can have an Encounter sensor on their parcel - regardless of land rating, parcel location, or location type. Once listed, residents can choose to put your custom stamp in their inworld display.

The Sensor will walk you through the process in world, but if you need a little extra help, check out the detailed steps below for more information.

Step 1:

Create a texture with your Location’s brand on a white background, then upload it to Second Life. Add that full perm texture to your Engage Sensor. You will not be able to proceed forward to any other step until this is completed.

Step 2:

Once you’ve added it, the Engage Sensor will ask you to rename your texture - the new name will be posted to your Local Chat and you’ll see it as a long string of letters, numbers, and symbols. Right click the stamp texture inside the sensor and rename it to whatever is listed in your Local Chat. Just like before, you will not be able to proceed forward to any other step until this is completed.

Step 3:

Right click the texture inside the Sensor and set the permissions to NO MOD / NO COPY. You will not be able to proceed forward to any other step until this is completed.

Step 4:

If you have purchased the upgraded Encounter Sensor, it will ask if you would like to add a gift/object for your visitors. If you would like to add a gift, drag the object from your inventory to the contents of the Encounter Sensor. If not, type ‘no gift’ in your Local Chat.

Step 5:

Add a brief description of your Location to the Encounter Sensor. This is the description that will be listed on the Forever Tourist List, so be sure to use words that might intrigue residents to visit or give details about what they should expect if they come..
